This photographic project is rooted in fragments of the past—images of an elderly woman, likely deceased. I discovered her personal archive tucked inside a small blue leather suitcase, discarded and left open by a trash bin near my home. These photographs immediately stirred something deep within me, reminding me of my own analogue pictures that were cruelly stolen and destroyed. Through these forgotten snapshots from another era, I delve into the fragile threads of memory, attachment, and loss. Each photo speaks of a time once cherished but now abandoned, evoking emotions that linger between love and loss, past and present, and the fleeting nature of memory. Inspired by the Open Call from Photo Trouvée Magazine, I invited Eleftheria Gerari, a remarkable Greek paper artist, to collaborate on this project. Our work will be featured in the magazine’s 15th issue, set to release in mid-December 2024.
