Artist statement:
"I envy every painter and every illustrator.
Until I learn to draw, I will photograph."
Having lived for over forty years without the light of imagination, Dora Grivopoulou has found photography as a gateway to set her creativity free. Emotions guide her work, transforming sensations into lines, shapes, and colours that reflect her inner world. In her project, Eden Lost she blurs the boundaries between photography and painting. In recent project You were loved she explores the collages and the collaboration with another artist. Grivopoulou is fearless in exploring various mediums and techniques to capture the essence of her inspiration. Dora’s journey is one of trusting intuition and nurturing creativity. Through art, she has discovered her true voice. When you gaze upon her images, she invites you to abandon thought and surrender to feeling.
As an artist, she continually seeks to arrest the beauty and essence of life. To experience her photos materialise as they emerge from the printer is truly gratifying — and a source of pride.
Dora’s portfolio spans exhibitions across Greece, Italy, and beyond, with her projects featured in both group and solo shows, as well as in private art collections.
Dora is being represented by SINGULART Gallery.
